What We Buy

Not all coins and banknotes have value. In actual fact I would say that only 20% has value. Here you will find a guideline on what we are interested in.

ZAR Period Coins

ZAR Period Coins. This range includes the 1 penny, 3 pence, 6 pence, 1 shilling, 2 shilling, half crown, 5 shilling, gold ½ pond and the gold 1
pond. Condition will influence the price a lot.

All these coins have decent value and we will gladly look at what you have.

Union of South Africa period

This range includes coins from the ¼ penny right through to the gold pond.

Condition will make a big difference in price but with the silver and gold coins they will still have value even in bad condition.

We are also interested in all the proof sets from this period.

Republic of South Africa Period

Very few coins have value in this period. The R1 coins from 1965 to 1976. The R1 from 1965 in Afrikaans. The 1 cent from 1965 in
Afrikaans. The 50 cent from 1965 in English.
With the rest of the coins the value is not great.
We do however buy proof coin sets from this period.

Special collectors coins from South Africa

The SA Mint produces coins specifically for the collector’s market.

These coins are not made for everyday use. We are interested in all of them.

See the examples below
